La Mer at Illovo Beach

The private beach was the best part. I still think about going down the stairs and path and sinking my toes into the sand and sea. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely mid-winter break. I especially liked the complimentary little bits, the spices, herbs, eggs, juice and more. The decor was beautiful and welcoming, and the soft furnishings were really comfy. Thank you, Burger, for sharing this heavenly place with everyone.

We loved it here, 10 out of 10. The apartment was much more spacious than we expected, with everything needed for the whole stay. The hosts and staff were warm and welcoming, and every detail seemed taken care of.

We stayed in unit 37 with our family of five, and the spacious, updated 3 bed/2 bath apartment fit us perfectly. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there was a washer, though no dryer, which was a bummer. We hung our clothes to dry on the very large covered terrace. There was also a large BBQ outside to use. Our host, Gabi, was easy to reach and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. The community felt very safe, with a 24/7 guard at the gate and close security monitoring. The outdoor grounds were meticulously maintained and clean, and the inviting pool was clean too. There’s also a clubhouse and outdoor grills. We’ll probably stay here again when we return to SA.

The apartment was beautifully maintained and had lots of conveniences. The property and gardens were clean and well cared for, and the beach was continually cleaned. Security was provided on the beach and around the property, so it felt safe. It’s close to malls and good places to eat, and Durban City is a short drive away.
