Savoy hotel

After living locally for 15 years, I finally treated myself to a night out to see if all the bad talk was true. It was just talk, I loved it. Thanks Carlos, Andrew and the rest of sovoy..prima!

There was music all night, and the rooms were really dirty. The place is old, with no wifi, no breakfast, nothing.

The one kind moment was the receptionist offering us her parking bay at 10pm. The rest of the stay was terrible. They couldn’t find my booking through agoda and said they don’t use agoda. Parking is on the street, and the location felt horrible and unsafe. The rooms need a serious upgrade, with dirty towels and a muggy smell. There’s no aircon, even with it 30degrees outside, and the fan was covered in dust. Music from the hotel bar carried on till morning, so you couldn’t sleep. The price makes no sense for a place that feels like a 1star hotel, not 3. This should be called a guesthouse, not a hotel.

Mrs Jenny, the receptionist, was brilliant and always willing to help. The rooms were clean, with fresh sheets and towels, but the hotel itself feels run down and more like a hostel. There’s no air conditioning or even a fan, and it’s expensive for what it is.
