The ocean views are spectacular, and the place itself is very nice. My only concern was the limited parking inside, so my car had to stay on the street for several nights. The area felt very safe, but I would have felt more at ease with a parking spot.

I loved waking up to the waves, and the upstairs lounge has wide ocean views. From there you can watch surfers, and, if you're lucky, spot dolphins. Room 9 had a small terrace facing the sea, which was visible from the bed and even the shower. It was spacious, richly furnished in an African style, and had a TV with DStv, air conditioning, tea and coffee, an en-suite bathroom, plus a small kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. The guesthouse is literally steps from the Indian Ocean, in a quiet stretch of Jeffreys Bay's surf coast. It's about 1.5 km north of Supertubes, with direct beach access and no crowds. Port Elizabeth International Airport is around 50 minutes away. There's a small shopping center across the road for basics, but you'll need a car for restaurants, shops, and other local attractions. For me, the peaceful setting was worth that trade-off. Breakfast is served in the upstairs lounge, with hot dishes ordered from a menu and cold options at a small buffet. Everything was excellent and felt fresh. There's also an honesty bar where you can help yourself to drinks and pay later. No restaurant for other meals, though that wasn't a problem for me. The decor is classic and elegant, with African touches, but the atmosphere still feels relaxed. It suited a beach break and could also work if you're mixing business with leisure. There isn't a gym or pool, just a chance to unwind by the ocean. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel at home. Wi-Fi worked well throughout the property, and the medium-sized smart TV had sports, news, music, films, and entertainment in several languages.

The lounge was a lovely place to relax or get some work done, with lots of space and beautiful views. Our nicely decorated room had a partial sea view, and the guest house is right on the beach, with access through a locked gate. Don't miss the sunrise, with the wind turbines visible in the distance. There's also a self-service honesty bar in the evening. Restaurants are nearby, though it's a small town.

We had a poor experience, with no apology for the miscommunication or the unprofessional way it was handled. I booked through an online service, then found out our room wasn't child-friendly. They moved us to one that was, but said breakfast might no longer be included because of the room change. When we returned the key the next morning, we were told there'd be an extra R1000 for the upgrade, and that the guesthouse wasn't child-friendly because our child might disturb other guests. I checked the listing myself. It clearly said children of all ages were welcome and infants aged 0-3 stayed free. As a tour operator, I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse.
