Gold Crown international Hotel

The rooms were fine, and the service was okay, but the showers wouldn’t turn on, the air conditioner wouldn’t work, and the water stayed cold even after they switched on the generator. The Wi-Fi was down too. Breakfast was a zero for me. I could make a better one, and there wasn’t any cutlery to eat it with.

It’s okay for a short stay. We needed somewhere for the night, and the rooms were decent, though ours had a leak. There was just one mug, no cups or glasses, and not many amenities.

The place used to be great, but it isn’t maintained now. Staff don’t seem trained to deal with complaints, and drunk people try to unlock your room in the early hours while you’re asleep. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t served as promised. It felt like we had to beg for it.

The bathroom was tiny, with nowhere to put toiletries, no soap or handwash, and a toilet without a seat, not practical for using the toilet or for women. The Wi-Fi didn’t work and the air conditioner gave us trouble. There was only one place to charge a phone, so my partner and I had to take turns. No dressing tables either. It’s more like a two-storey guesthouse than a hotel, and the building isn’t appealing. The standard is very low. There’s no dining hall, so we ate in our room. The sheets were worn out, and the kettle was old and dented. Coffee and powdered milk came in a little container, with no liquid milk. We got plastic teaspoons, plus a gold knife and a silver fork. It really isn’t worth the price.
