MINT Apartments Greenside

We booked four apartments at MINT Greenside after seeing the photos and earlier reviews, and expected something decent. The apartments were dirty, with water marks left on the tables and side tables, as if they hadn’t even been wiped. Worse, cockroaches were all over the place, from the kitchens and bathrooms to the bedrooms, and even crawling on our clothes in the cupboards. After the first night, management apologised and agreed to move us to the Rosebank apartments, which were much better. Don’t be fooled by the online photos.

The first night was noisy, with people outside our room drinking and smoking hubbly (hookah) until the early hours. That added to an already disappointing stay. Getting in by car was confusing because there were no directions for parking or entering the property. We drove around until a car guard explained what to do, and the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful. The room TV had no chords, so it was just decoration. There was no hair dryer, the floors and sinks were dirty, the shower didn’t drain properly, and our towels were stained. There wasn’t a bath mat, so we had to use a towel to avoid slipping. The kitchen was also poorly equipped for a long stay, with no dish rack or sponge. Not a terrible experience, but definitely not a good one.

A lovely, roomy apartment with busy access to lots of places to eat. The dove droppings were a downside, and that’s why I didn’t give it five stars.

The apartment was filthy, with hair on the floor, dirty showers, torn bed linen and a ripped kitchen towel. There were roaches everywhere, even in our coffee, and the staff took no responsibility.
