The Gallagher Hotel & Conference Centre

I’m at Inani Midrand right now, and the noise and alcohol drinking right by the entrance and reception say a lot. The pillows, rooms and linen smell of cigarettes or some other unpleasant odor that’s hard to identify. I really wouldn’t come back.

We enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent, and the place was clean and nicely arranged. The only thing I’d change is the TV. Those sets are boring, so they should get smart TVs.

The rooms don’t look like the photos at all. The foyer and restaurant are pretty and tidy, but upstairs gave me a Cecil Hotel feeling. The bathroom was moldy, so I had to shower in flip-flops, and there wasn’t any hot water. The coffee mugs were dirty, like nobody had even tried to wash them. The aircon didn’t work, only one TV channel came in, and the surfaces were sticky and unclean. Walking across the floor, I felt like I was sticking to it. The staff were very friendly, though, and breakfast was good.

From the secure parking to the friendly staff, the whole place was great. The rooms were very clean, there was hot water, and breakfast was hearty. One of the best hotels in Johannesburg, definitely deserves five stars. Keep it up.
