Kathu Inn by Country Hotels

The barman is top tier, like he's worked in this kind of place for years, and the receptionists are friendly, calm and professional. Seeing them makes you feel confident that you're in good hands. The amazing, welcoming staff always aim to please, and make the place feel like home.

Kathu Inn is in a fantastic, convenient location, but we were very disappointed with our stay and won't stay overnight again. Although the room looked clean at first, there were cockroaches in the bathroom and peeling paint on the walls. The aircon didn't work, the kitchen cupboards were falling apart, and the underside of the bed was coming apart too. I've stayed at a number of country lodges and inns, but this one let us down.

After a seven-hour drive to Kathu Inn, I found an ice-cold bottle of water waiting in the fridge in my room. It's the little things that make a big difference. The rooms are neat and clean. Thank you, Kathu Inn.

The rooms are generally clean, but the curtains need attention because they're dirty. After rain, the walking areas should be cleaned promptly to keep them safe. Breakfast could offer more variety, including options like liver and food for guests with dietary restrictions, such as no pork.
