Aero Guest Lodge

I’ve stayed here more than 13 times. Once, they were fully booked and I was really disappointed to have to stay somewhere else. It’s a convenient, friendly lodge, just minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle and hot breakfast included. I’ve tried several rooms. They’re not luxurious, but they’ve always been clean and comfortable. I’m a woman travelling alone and have always felt safe here. Just don’t expect the Ritz.

Jordan, the night manager, was great and helpful. He arranged for Kenny to pick us up from the airport that evening, unexpectedly, and Kenny was really nice too. The room had a fan heater, which we were glad of because it was very cold, and the shower had lovely hot water. Breakfast was good, and the stay was good value for a late, unexpected booking. There was a misunderstanding about our ride to the airport the next day. The two women on day staff seemed rude and stubborn about it. I also heard them laughing and talking loudly about the mix-up in the closed office, which felt uncalled for and unprofessional. In the end, I urgently called an Uber for my husband and me. The location is handy for early morning or late night flights, as it’s close to the airport.

The lodge grounds outside were beautiful and tidy, and the shuttle driver was really friendly and helpful. My room was clean, though the bed was a bit dated. I was only there for four hours during a layover before my next flight, so I personally thought the room was a bit overpriced.

I was left stuck inside the hotel with the gate shut and nobody there to open it so we could at least call an Uber and leave. There were two other guests in the same situation. No staff could be found, and no one answered our calls. The driver who was meant to pick us up for the airport transfer never showed. That was a nightmare, and I’ll never book this place again.
