Avant- Garde was a good-value alternative to an airport hotel, with a well appointed room in quiet garden surroundings. I stayed for one night in October 2025 while travelling through the airport, and the pickup was very efficient and accommodating. The evening meal was pretty ordinary, so you may want to eat before you head over. Even so, I'd definitely stay again.

The meals are great, the rooms are comfortable, and the host and staff are wonderfully friendly. It's convenient for the airport, and we always stay here when we're in Johannesburg.

I've been coming here for 12 years, and the staff know my birthday and celebrate with me when I'm there. We share our highs and lows. My staff stay here when they travel too. Armand & Josie, thank you.

The breakfast was terrific, and the place is very nice and clean. It's right by the airport, and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Our room was spacious, and the bathroom had both a shower and a bath. The hosts and staff were really kind, and we enjoyed the delicious dinner and breakfast. Avant Garde is in a quiet neighbourhood close to the airport. The room lighting could be better, though.
