Terrylin Backpackers - Adults Only

For R55 by Uber, you can get there to sleep during a layover. It's affordable and clean, and I had the best bed I've ever slept on. We could make coffee, get some breakfast, and head out in the early hours without any hassle.

Rhodesfield Gautrain station is about a 15-minute walk away. This is a clean, safe, budget hostel for backpackers near Johannesburg Airport. The neighborhood felt safe to walk around, and there's a restaurant two blocks away. Rooms are large and clean, and the caretaker is friendly and helpful. There's a lockable cupboard for valuables, plus a security fence and gate that locks around the property.

I missed my flight out of Johannesburg and ended up in a difficult situation. Traveling alone, without cell coverage and clearly lost, I was targeted by a taxi driver asking for a ridiculous amount of money. Terrylin answered the door and went out of their way to help sort it out. I'm very grateful. The driver and I were arguing when Terry got into the car with us, and I don't know what might have happened if they hadn't stepped in. Thanks so much. I'd highly recommend this lodge. Just remember to take an Uber from the airport, not a local taxi.

The owners were really nice and the place was clean. It's a decent self-service backpacker, though they shut a little early and lock all the gates. That took me back to boarding school a bit. Otherwise, it's pretty decent.
