NThambo Tree Camp

Over our five days and four nights, we saw a different side of the bush on every game drive, like a wildlife documentary unfolding in front of us. On day one, lions hunted buffalo. The next day we spotted the area's only free-roaming white lion cub. On day three, elephants wandered into camp for a drink. Day four brought a lion pride feeding on a dead elephant, and on our last day we watched giraffes battling. A special thank you to Julien, Jan, Catherine, and Christo for their warm welcome, professionalism, and for helping us feel safe throughout the stay. I'd highly recommend nThambo Tree Camp to anyone after an authentic African safari.

We had so much fun during our honeymoon stay, and leaving after those two nights was hard. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us like family, were always reachable, and did their best to fulfill our wishes. The canvas-walled tree houses let us hear nature as if we were right in the bush, while still keeping us comfortable and safe. It was a unique way to enjoy the African wilderness.

Julian, our guide, made sure we saw pretty much all the animals you'd expect, including plenty of cats. We had early starts and late finishes, and the bedrooms were super clean, high up in the trees, with a great view over the bush. It's a great little camp on a private game reserve. With a maximum of 10 people, you get to know the other travellers quickly. All the staff were super friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there.

What made this one of my best travel experiences was the work Julian and the trackers, Conrad and Jan, put into the game drives. They're passionate about the bush and wildlife, and helped me see so many beautiful animals, big and small. The whole team does an incredible job every day, and I don't have enough words for them. I stayed at Nthambo Tree Camp for three days, and the staff did everything they could to make me comfortable. The cook worked wonders in the kitchen, the cleaning staff kept everything clean, and everyone was friendly. The camp is in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and has amazing views. The rustic tree house hut was nicely decorated, with a private balcony overlooking the view and a bathroom with amenities. The bed was comfortable and covered by a mosquito net, and the warm blankets meant I wasn't cold. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. I hope to be back one day!
