The noise from a nearby venue made it impossible to rest, and the lodge wasn’t in the best part of town. I asked for another room but was told there were no alternatives. If I hadn’t been traveling with colleagues, I’d have left right away. At the gate, nobody answered the bell; someone only responded after I called on my cellphone, and the receptionist seemed uninterested in helping or even being there. There wasn’t even soap in the bathroom, and the problems kept going. The Oasis Country Lodge was a deeply disappointing stay. I won’t return, and the experience has put me off Klawer entirely. Next time I’ll stay in a nearby town.

The town is small, but staying at the country lodge felt like being in a dream. I loved it.

The food was fantastic, the room was spacious, and the showers were wonderful. We stayed here last night and got such lovely service. Thank you, John, for the strings too. I really appreciate it. It felt like a real oasis.

We were lucky not to stay there, since reception was unfriendly and didn’t seem very interested in helping.
