6 On Protea

The freshly cooked breakfast on the terrace was a real highlight. The food was excellent, and looking out over the lagoon while we ate made for an unforgettable start to the day. We also appreciated how friendly and welcoming the Manager Mr Mohammed was, along with the personal service and helpful Knysna recommendations. 6 on Protea was the highlight of our Knysna trip. It’s peaceful, yet only a short walk from the Waterfront, and the views over the Knysna Lagoon are breathtaking. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Our room was spacious, spotless and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt like a peaceful retreat with outstanding hospitality, and we can’t wait to return.

Waking up to the birds and having coffee on the patio were lovely parts of our stay. The property is beautifully maintained and has a serene atmosphere. The manager is professional, approachable and clearly cares about guests’ comfort. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

The manager clearly takes pride in his work, and the atmosphere here feels warm. I’ve stayed in plenty of guesthouses, but 6 on Protea stands out. The beds are really comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Guests from this guesthouse have regularly parked in front of our parking bays. This morning, they did it again and blocked two of our guests in. When my wife asked them to move, they refused and spoke disrespectfully to her. I firmly asked them to move their car, without swearing or acting aggressively. None of us went outside; we spoke to them from within our property fence. Afterward, the three individuals coordinated and, in my view, exaggerated and made up claims about what happened, including saying that my wife and I came outside and shouted at them. My efforts to resolve the issue with the guesthouse manager and owner went nowhere. The manager then sent me sarcastic, arrogant messages. These guests seemed aggrieved that they couldn’t get away with their unacceptable behaviour, and expected us to be subservient and let them walk over us. They even left three separate reviews judging our accommodation despite never having stayed here.
