Anisa Guesthouse

The spa was the one bright spot. The ladies there were friendly and professional, and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, that couldn't make up for how poor the rest of our stay at Anisa Guest House was, and I wouldn't recommend it. We had cold water on both days, and although the shower was spacious, it was dirty and seemed not to have been properly cleaned for a while. The access road is in terrible shape, and having to call someone to open the gate every time we came back was frustrating. Breakfast was a mess. Everything was cooked at once, whatever time guests planned to eat, so it was cold and reheated. The chips were soggy, and the eggs were made as they chose. When I politely asked for a well-done egg, the woman seemed annoyed and brought it back undercooked, so I didn't eat it. There was no cutlery out, and I had to look through cupboards for some. There was no real hospitality or care from the staff. Right when we arrived, the receptionist seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. The lack of customer care, cleanliness, and basic comfort made this one of my worst accommodation experiences.

Getting to this beautiful place was difficult, and the stay itself wasn't good. We had no electricity all night, so our phones couldn't be charged. In the morning there was still no power or water. No one explained what was happening or apologized, and breakfast couldn't be made another way because the woman said the gas had run out too. What they served looked like Kellogg's but tasted like paper, with cold milk that didn't seem safe to drink. I emailed the property about it but haven't had a reply. I hope they improve.

The staff were courteous and ready to help make the stay better. The rooms are lovely and have a homey feel.

I felt safe there, and everything was clean and well organized. That impression started with my phone enquiry with vhahangwele and continued when we arrived. I'd like to visit with my kids, so please consider adding family suites that include children.
