Room #3 had a good bed and a dual electric blanket, and the porches were nice too, one at the front for sun and another on the side for shade. There’s plenty of hot water, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are carefully decorated, and there are lots of nice pots and pans for self catering, though there’s no oven. There was plenty of fridge space, at least during the winter months. This is the best place to stay in Knysna.

The shower was the one letdown. It was really hard to find a comfortable temperature, since it swung between freezing cold and burning hot. Aside from that, I can only recommend the place. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel had a cozy shared lounge with a well equipped kitchen, comfy couches and great WiFi. I was able to teach online for 1.5 hours without any trouble. At night we sat on the terrace, which had a lovely feel with candles and armchairs. The owner was a very nice lady and even helped clean and dry our shoes after they got dirty on the beach.

Wooden floors and much of the original architecture give the place a lovely old-world feel. It’s in the middle of town, beside schools and churches.

We’ve stayed here twice now and would gladly return. The rooms are clean and lovely, and the service is kind and accommodating. Most rooms have an en-suite bathroom; the lounge, kitchen, and TV with Netflix are shared, and there’s tea and coffee in the lounge.
