Elephant Hide of Knysna Accommodation

We had a lovely three-night stay, and the service from Fish, John and our host Mandy was excellent. The room was described accurately as having a partial view, but after days of driving to Knysna, looking at a timber fence was disappointing. Our travel agent booked it, and I didn’t check her recommendation closely enough. We asked for four- to five-star accommodation, so we can only assume it wasn’t cheap, though we don’t know the exact price. The internal stairs were quite dangerous for us in our 60s when trying to find the bathroom at night. Even so, we had a good experience overall.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, even arranging bookings for massages and a catamaran sunset cruise. We loved our room, especially the big bathtub with gorgeous views of the Knysna Lagoon, and breakfast was fresh and lovely each morning. The property is just outside Knysna, close enough to explore the town and its many good places to eat, while still offering peace and quiet. We spent three nights here and really enjoyed it.

The staff were amazing, and we truly enjoyed the unique stay in these secluded huts. From the top of the hill, there are beautiful views of the lagoon and lush gardens, and it felt like real value for money. The shower mixer didn’t work, so we only had cold water. The last stretch of road to the property is full of potholes and badly needs repair. They also closed the lounge in the early evening.

The views were great, and the staff were extremely friendly. Thanks to John and the Manager for the excellent service. I’ll be back soon.
