We were a group of nine motorbikers and stayed overnight. Two other riders slept nearby, but I reckon we got the better deal. The manager welcomed us, sorted out the rooms, and made us feel settled. There's plenty of parking, and the large Swiss-style wooden lodge is well maintained, with its own grounds facing the estuary. My wife and I had a double room. Its big bathroom was partly divided off, with a large counter and a huge, well-lit mirror. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Upstairs, besides the other bedrooms, there's a roomy sitting and dining area, a bar-style kitchen corner, and a separate kitchen. A large covered veranda looks out over the estuary, and there are more self-contained bedrooms downstairs. We ate at the harbour, so didn't use the kitchen, but the manager had all the tea and coffee bits ready in the morning, which was a lifesaver. Definitely worth considering if you're travelling as a group.

We felt very unsafe here and wouldn't recommend it. After we arrived, a man who smelled of alcohol and seemed clearly under the influence greeted us, which made us very uncomfortable. About 15 minutes later, someone smashed our car window and stole our belongings. One star only because there wasn't an option for zero.

Our car was broken into while we were unloading, and the place felt very unsafe. The man who checked us in smelled of alcohol and appeared clearly under the influence. I wouldn't recommend it. If zero stars had been available, that's what I'd have given.

It's self-catering, and there was always warm water for a shower. The lady working there was friendly.

We stayed in the deck room, which came with our own chairs on a deck and a lovely lagoon view. Breakfast on the outdoor deck overlooking the lagoon was a great way to start the day. It's peaceful and quiet while still close to Knysna, a good spot if that's what you're after.
