Blackwaters River Lodge

The birdlife was spectacular, and the lodge’s forest and river surroundings were breathtakingly peaceful. We spent a week here and couldn’t fault a thing. It was an unforgettable stay, and we look forward to returning. Elmay, the owner, clearly puts her heart into the place. The lodge was spotless, and the rooms were beautifully prepared, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could want. The staff were warm and friendly, treated us more like family than guests, and were always ready to help. There’s plenty to choose from, whether you want to relax by the pool or get active with hiking, canoeing, or golf. Knowledgeable guides were available to help. There’s also an on-site a la carte restaurant. We spent our days with family who had moved to the area, so didn’t get to eat there, but what we saw looked very good. And the spa offers wonderful massages from highly qualified therapists.

The river setting felt like a little piece of paradise, and the lodge was a real gem. The owner and staff were warm and professional, with plenty of care, even during the busy holiday season. We loved our four nights here and will be back.

The restaurant meals were delicious, and there were lots of activities to enjoy. The staff were attentive throughout our lovely stay, and we felt thoroughly spoiled. Special thanks to the owners, Chantelle and Eddie. 🌸

The hotel staff were a big help after another guest crashed into my car in the parking lot. We still had three great nights here, surrounded by lovely scenery.
