We've been back several times, and whenever we're in South Africa we make a point of coming out to Knysna to stay here. Andres and Ines are wonderful hosts and consummate professionals. The property and rooms are beautiful, the laundry and linens are clean and smell fresh, and the food and service are fantastic. Book a stay and you won't be disappointed, you may even want to extend it!

We stayed at Candlewood for an extended visit, including a really lovely weekend in the Honeymoon Suite, and fell in love with the place. Matt was a generous, attentive and gracious host, and his world-class hospitality made it all feel extra special. Breakfast was outstanding, whether we ate in the dining room or out on the terrace. We also had dinner there one evening and really enjoyed it. We were genuinely sad to leave, and can't recommend Candlewood highly enough! ❤️

A warm host and great staff made this one of the best stays we've ever had. The breakfast was sensational and special, definitely not standard. Everything was very clean, the area felt safe, and it was worth every Rand :-) Highly recommended!

We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a room with a stunning view. The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were so friendly and always willing to help. I really enjoyed my time here and would happily recommend this wonderful hotel.

The fresh breakfast each morning was a highlight. Everything tasted amazing, the ingredients seemed top quality and each dish was made with care. The staff were also incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Candlewood Lodge is beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views and a serene, retreat-like feel. From the moment we arrived, I loved the peaceful space and had a wonderful experience. If you're after a quiet getaway with excellent food and service, I'd highly recommend it. A stay you won't forget!
