The waffles alone were unforgettable, honestly the best Belgian waffles you’ll ever have. Pierre made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and the place was spotless, comfortable, and had such an easygoing atmosphere. Even the two dogs greeting people at the gate won us over completely. We had a truly wonderful stay at Chez Pierre Guest House and will definitely return.

We only stopped because we spotted an open sign for Belgian Waffles while driving by. Pierre said they were popular, and now I understand why. Crispy outside, soft and airy inside, fresh, a good size, and not overly sweet. Magnifique! They vanished before we could take a photo. You can also buy them frozen, and stopping for one is well worth it.

The Tintin comics all over the walls were a hit with us and the kids, and the rooms were spacious. Pierre and the staff were genuinely welcoming and accommodating. We also found the Belgian waffles legendary, including the gluten-free ones that worked just as well for my wife. Chez Pierre is a wonderfully cozy place to stay, and even passing through is a good excuse to get waffles. We visited in August, so the pool and bar area seemed inviting but weren’t well timed for us. Next time we’ll try coming in summer.

The breakfast was outstanding, and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. The rooms and the rest of the place are beautiful, too. As dog lovers, we especially enjoyed having the property’s very cute dogs around. We’ll absolutely return next time we’re in Knysna.
