Ingrid made us feel at ease, and our stay was wonderfully peaceful. The place looked beautiful in person and exceeded even the lovely photos and reviews we’d seen online. I’d highly recommend it.

From the secluded spot on the cliff, you can look out over forest as far as the eye can see. It’s a private place to stay, yet only a 10-minute drive into town, making it a great base for exploring the Garden Route. Ingrid was very helpful with anything we needed. Kringe in die Bos trail in Rheenendal, with its gigantic 880-year-old tree, is also just a 10-minute drive away.

We could see the lush forest valley from anywhere in the cabin, even from the shower. The cottages were cosy and well stocked for self-catering, with everything we needed, plus a fireplace that was welcome in the cold weather during our visit. Incredible stay. If you’re in or near Knysna, Cliffhanger Cottages is a must.

Morning coffee outside became our favourite part of the day, and the room’s inside sitting area and super-comfy bed made it cosy. Ingrid has made a little piece of heaven out of the location. Cleaning staff came every second day, and the place stayed so clean. All five stars are well deserved, and we’d go back any day.
