Thesen Islands Villa

We spent a week here and will make this our first call next time we're in Knysna. It's our second visit to Thesen Island, though our first stay at the Holiday House, and it was a wonderful place to be. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home is immaculate, with the kitchen, dining and lounge areas flowing out to a deck over the canal. Furnishings and fittings are top quality. The kitchen had every appliance we could think of, apparently brand new, plus plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans. The dining table is comfortably placed, and the lounge has a huge settee, other chairs and a decent TV with cable or satellite, so we could watch the major sporting events. Both bathrooms were beautifully done. The master had a huge freestanding bath and walk-in shower, and the king bed and linens were excellent. From the decked area we could see the canal and the Turbine Hotel opposite, with lots of historical information worth reading about. All in all, a wonderful stay.

Quiet and relaxing, with all the comforts of home. This was the best holiday accommodation we've had in a long time.

There are plenty of holiday activities around and restaurants nearby. The scenery is beautiful, and it feels safe to walk here.

I've never stayed in a better holiday home. Absolutely the best.
