Lion Sands Ivory Lodge

Our rooms at Lions Sands Ivory lodge were so luxe, with amazing views, and the food was consistently incredible. We travel often, and Lion sands exceeded our expectations on every level. The people made the dream trip. Everyone we met was lovely, hardworking and genuinely caring. Kuda, our travel specialist at More, helped us plan our first Safari and talked us through all the options. Michael and Lloyd, our guide and tracker, were talented, professional and so much fun. We saw the magnificent 7 in just two days, and every drive felt worthwhile. Rodnick was the best butler and took great care of us. Sam, Meaghan and Morgan checked in every day to make sure we were having a good experience. Thank you!

Even before we arrived, the service from Ivory Lodge was above and beyond. Every staff member was a delight and seemed to anticipate what we might need. The drives were full of sightings, including a chameleon our tracker spotted hiding in the trees as we passed. Our room was magnificent, the food delicious, and the service the best I've encountered. I can't recommend Ivory Lodge highly enough.

The game drives left us speechless. Raymond, our ranger, and Amu, our tracker, knew the wildlife and land so well, and their stories and respect for nature made the experience feel far deeper than simply spotting animals. We had close encounters with hippos by the water, lionesses and cubs, males with their kills, elephants with babies, leopards mating, buffalo, giraffe and rhino. Those moments will stay with us. The beautiful Choir moved us to tears of joy, and Alice helped us capture these memories on camera. From our first enquiry with Kuda through our arrival and final goodbye, the team at Lion Sands Game Reserve — Ivory Lodge and River Lodge made us feel warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for. Everyone helped us feel connected, like part of a family, and the thoughtful details at both lodges felt personal. Thank you so much, Erica. Ivory Lodge was serene and luxurious, while River Lodge had a timeless beauty and tranquility. Our night at the Chalkley Tree house was unforgettable, with the sounds of the bush all around us. Each offered something distinct, but both brought together nature, comfort and heartfelt hospitality. This journey touched us deeply and reminded us of the beauty of the wild and the importance of connection. Staying at Lion Sands was the best decision we've made. We left grateful, with full hearts and memories we'll cherish forever.

Heaven on earth, really amazing. The location, accommodation, caring staff and game drives were all lovely, and I especially liked the wine selection. If I had one comment, dinner could be improved a bit.
