It was such a letdown. The hotel itself looks beautiful and the staff were lovely, but the property needs a serious clean-up and a lot of maintenance. Our room was dusty, the walls need washing and painting, and there were cobwebs in every corner. The curtains in the staff accommodation were filthy and slipping off their rails, while light fittings hung loose from the ceiling and rough cement patches showed on the walls. The shared kitchen was disgusting, especially the microwaves, which looked like they had never seen a cloth. We only found out on arrival that our booking was for staff quarters in a separate building at the back of the property, beside staff accommodation in a very dodgy part of the grounds. The website and Booking dots comes showed pictures of rooms inside the actual hotel and never mentioned this different accommodation or that hotel rooms cost more. Outside our window were rundown wooden structures, possibly tool or gardening sheds, that made a terrible noise at night when the wind blew. When we asked why we weren't in the hotel rooms, we were told those had different prices. It feels like clients are being scammed. The place seems like it used to have a lot of life, but it's slipping away.

We only stayed in the room for about ten minutes after coming back from dinner before checking out for good. The room smelled damp, and the curtain rail had come away from the wall and was hanging at an angle. In room two, the TV didn't work, and we couldn't get WiFi either. At reception we were greeted by someone who seemed indifferent and rude, apparently the owner's daughter. The hosts could use properly trained hospitality staff. We moved to a nearby competitor, where the experience was completely different in every department, and the price was better too.

Be careful booking through the Vio app. Customer service there confirmed that breakfast was included, but the hotel told us it wasn't when we arrived. I'd booked and paid for a family twin room for my parents, expecting breakfast as advertised. I wouldn't use Vio or stay at this hotel again. It left me feeling they don't care about honesty, integrity, or paying customers, and that they may be falsely advertising. Better to choose somewhere that honours its bookings.

The bed was the one decent thing. There were little cockroaches all over the floor, the taps were broken, the TV wasn't connected, and the light fittings were hanging from the ceiling. The staff were polite, though they didn't seem properly trained.

I stayed one night in December 2025 and really wasn't happy. The lamp shades didn't work, there were hardly any people at the front desk, and the reception staff weren't friendly. I won't go back.
