Lajava Guest Lodge

I stayed for several weeks and had a pleasant time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they took concerns seriously and sorted things out where possible. The restaurant and dining space made it easy to socialize. My room had the necessities and was well furnished. Coffee and sugar were supplied, but there was no tea or milk. There was a TV, though the channel selection was limited; you could ask reception for more channels.

Everyone on staff was polite, and they were very accommodating of what we needed. I had a really great experience, would recommend the place, and hope to be back soon.

I can't understand the good reviews, this place was horrible. The receptionist was rude, the water was cold, and the reception area looked awful when we walked in, nothing like the pictures. Nothing worked. I don't understand how it got a 3 star rating. For the same price, I recommend Bannister hotel in braam, better everything.

The room was terribly hot, and we couldn't reach the fan switch because of the high ceiling. There was a portable aircon, but it made so much noise that sleeping was difficult. The curtains and linen were dirty, and there are a lot of safety hazards outside. The building exterior and reception area made a poor first impression. Reception couldn't find our booking, so we had to show the email correspondence. Breakfast was awful, with no pepper or butter for the toast, so we had to eat it dry. The advertised free WiFi wasn't available. The TV only had two channels, and the picture wasn't clear. The bath and basins had no lids. The walls were cracking, the paint was coming off, and everything was terribly dirty, with spider webs. Overall, it wasn't a good stay and didn't deserve a 4 star grading.
