The Old Mill Hotel

After paying R 3500.00, I'd expected better service. The place was literally not what the Internet advertised. We phoned ahead to confirm our bookings, but when we arrived there was cold food left in the rooms and the meat was tough as nails. The electrical installations looked like an unqualified electrician had done them. We had to search around in the dark for plugs and were basically left to fend for ourselves. Taps were loose in the basins and the showers leaked onto the tiles. At least the bed had a warm blanket. I'm very disappointed 😞, and the owner of this hotel really should look at the property.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and it was nice and quiet. Friendly staff too.

I was there for a few weeks in 2019 on a business trip. The WiFi was weak in the rooms, and I could hardly access it. Otherwise, it was an okay stay, and those electric blankets did a good job of keeping me warm.

It's great if you don't want to sleep, or if you're friends with the receptionist. Cars were coming and going through the parking areas at all hours, and it got so bad you'd have to drive back to Pretoria at 12pm at night. I made an official complaint, then the owners apparently found "witnesses" who said they'd heard me swear at the receptionist, even though there was nobody else around. Not safe. At all.
