Malagas Hotel

If you’re after a quiet, beautiful and calm atmosphere, this is the place to go. The hotel is lovely, with an astonishing river nearby and gravel roads around it. All the workers were friendly and smiling the whole time. Our room was very neat, and the bedsheets smelled fresh. The food was my favorite part. Everything was cooked just right, and it tasted so good I can’t describe it. Wifi was excellent too, with full bars even though our room was a little far from the hotel.

The river’s dark water initially put us off swimming because we worried there might be sharks, but locals said the fishing was good, and we had a lot of fun fishing too. I spent a week here and found it a great quiet escape. The amenities were simple, clean and worked well, and we enjoyed the walks and facilities. With few people around midweek, it was a good chance to recharge.

The dirt road was in good shape, and the views along the way were magnificent. We had a cosy, peaceful stay in a comfortable room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A trip to Witsand is a must. Taking the ferry was a new experience for us, but it was quick and felt very safe. We also saw big flocks of blue cranes and flamingos. We had a wonderful time and will be back.

We felt on holiday from the moment we arrived, and spent the whole weekend relaxing and having fun. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Such an amazing getaway. I’d love to return.
