Kosi Forest Lodge

We loved our three nights here. We had no trouble with mosquitoes in July, and our accommodation was clean and good. I especially appreciated the hot water bottle at night. The food was excellent and service spot on. We especially enjoyed drinks by the pool at sunset, sometimes spotting a hippo or pied kingfisher. The guides were all wonderful, and we did the canoe trip, guided walk and snorkeling boat trip. It’s quiet and close to nature. Wonderful.

We especially liked how seriously they take caring for the environment. They avoid plastic and keep reusable items to a minimum. The staff were kind, attentive to little details, always smiling and quick to respond to requests. It’s a magical, quiet place immersed in nature. At night, the grounds are mostly lit by torches, and the rooms have both indoor and outdoor showers and bath tubs, also illuminated by torchlight.

We had a great two days at Kozi Forest Lodge in June 2024. The accommodation is well used, but the magical forest, abundant birdlife, delicious food and wonderful staff more than made up for that. Led by Blessings, the staff went out of their way for our group of 12, children included, sharing local stories about the area, plants and animals. They even added thoughtful touches like hot water bottles in our beds at night. Learning about Tonga traditions from George was a highlight, and his boat trip explanation of the intricate fish traps was fascinating. It’s an ideal place for families after a unique, relaxing break in nature. Highly recommend!

The food was great, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We stayed for 3 night and went hiking, took the boat ride and did the canoe trip. This place is magical, and being remote is part of the experience. The rooms are very adventurous, in a good way, so you need to love the outdoors to stay here. Highly recommend.
