Hog Hollow Country Lodge

The team at Hog Hollow made us feel right at home. Everyone was so friendly. We had a wonderful stay with our children, and the beautiful setting, clean rooms, and generous space all added to it. Thank you so much.

We’re travelling along the Garden Route and had booked two nights at Hog Hollow Lodge. The staff were kind and waited for us when we arrived later in the day. We were tired and hoping for a comfortable, cosy room, but the bungalow we were given clearly needed major renovation. The mattresses were completely worn out, the towels were very old, and there wasn’t even basic soap or shampoo. The room was also far from clean, as shown in the attached photos. We checked out after one night despite having paid for the full stay. The staff were understanding, but offered no compensation or even a partial refund. I can’t recommend it, and the place urgently needs renovation.

Loeries and Orioles were such a delight, and the meals were generous and delicious, served on the deck with stunning views. Hog Hollow gave us a special forest escape and such a peaceful Outeniqua experience. The rooms were comfortable, modern, and well equipped, with care taken over every detail. Even our muddy car was somehow washed for us! Thank you all so much ♥️

We were sorry to have only two nights at Hog Hollow Country Lodge. The forest view is breathtaking, and we enjoyed it from the pool as well. Our suite was tastefully furnished and comfortable, so it felt like home straight away. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and high quality, and we loved both dinner and the wine selection. The daily car wash was a great touch, especially after our drive through the De Hoop Reserve. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was warm, professional, and helpful without being intrusive. At breakfast they gave us useful tips for our planned activities, and they arranged a driver for our dinner in Plettenberg. After I hurt my leg hiking at Robberg, they treated the wound as soon as I asked for bandages and checked on me the next day. Thanks so much to Michelle, Fidelia, and the whole team. We’ll definitely return. If you’re travelling along the Garden Route, it’s well worth stopping here for a few nights.
