The house is lovely, with enough facilities for the number of people staying there, and the kitchen is very nice. But with 26 guests, two remotes and one bunch of keys weren’t enough. The gate code didn’t work, so getting in depended on whoever had a remote. That was frustrating since we were at a conference elsewhere and people didn’t all keep the same schedule. The keys and outside doors weren’t marked to match. Working out which key opened the “back door” or “kitchen door” was quite a mission, especially since the keys had to be wiggled, and some worked from one side of a door but not the other. Marking each outside door to match the keys would help, along with more keys and either a working gate code or extra remotes. We also ran out of gas for the small stovetop on day three. The wooden doors had been oiled or stained without any warning. My daughter accidentally brushed her brand-new sweater against one and got a permanent brown oil stain. On the plus side, the waffle house and beach are within walking distance.

The garden is beautifully maintained, with lush vegetation all around, and the setting feels private. There’s lots of room for several families, plus a fantastic pool and entertainment area. It’s also within walking distance of the beach. But the building was in very poor condition. The roof leaked in three different places, and we nearly slipped in the water from the leaks. The bottom floor smelled musty and had a lot of mould, which is a health hazard. In my view, guests shouldn’t be allowed to stay until the damp and the other maintenance issues are fixed. Great location and setting, but the lack of maintenance is a serious problem.

A cosy spot away from everyone, and a lovely place for a big family with plenty of room. We had trouble with the hot water throughout the weekend, though.

There were two snake incidents and two scorpion incidents in and around the house, and both the adults and kids were scared. Thank God no one got bitten. A broken window had also been left unreplaced, which made everyone paranoid. The house smelled damp inside, and the bunk beds were uncomfortable. I’d never book it again or recommend it to anyone.
