Birdsong Kruger

Birdsong is a spacious, lovely home with lots of interesting art and a very well-equipped kitchen. You can tell thought has gone into making sure guests have what they need. Joan was a delight, so helpful and patient despite all the calls we had to make about the problems. The noise had a big negative effect on our stay. It was a long weekend, and the nearby aqua park played extremely loud music all day, with someone using a megaphone to animate the guests. We tried, but nobody could help reduce the noise. I understand that part was outside the owner's control, but it still affected our experience a lot. The house’s water pump, needed because of Marloth’s ongoing water issues, was also very loud whenever it kicked in. We avoided flushing toilets at night or showering early in the morning so we wouldn’t wake others. We haven’t had that issue at past Marloth rentals, and it doesn’t feel acceptable for a house of this quality. There are a few parts of the house that need attention too. The small downstairs bedroom needs an upgrade and doesn’t match the rest of the interior. Both downstairs bathrooms are underwhelming, especially the one with the shower curtain. Birdsong is a lovely home, but the outside and inside noise really detracted from our stay.
