Needles Lodge

The hosts communicated well and were wonderful. I had a great three-night stay, especially enjoyed everyone, guests and hosts, eating together. As I was travelling alone, that made a difference. The lodge is about 30-40 minutes from the two gates to Kruger, so allow for that travel time when visiting the park.

The four-night package was great value for our family. It included two full-day Kruger safaris, an early morning rangers walk through the park, and four nights at the lodge. Needles arranged private tours in their own comfortable trucks, and Tiaan was a passionate, knowledgeable and very professional guide. He made our Kruger experience even better than we expected. Our family, me and my three daughters, had a fantastic stay at Needles. It exceeded what we expected, and as a small lodge, it made us feel like valued guests. Lyn was a delightful host for all four nights. The evening meals were a highlight, shared with other guests, staff and owners. The food was local, well prepared and nicely presented. The lodge has only eight guest rooms, so the service feels very personal. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, and the food is amazing, served family style with the other guests. We had an incredible safari experience at Needles, thanks to the location and the people there. I'd strongly recommend booking private game drives through the lodge. They have two of their own trucks, and the guides are friendly and knowledgeable. If you're after somewhere near Kruger that feels luxurious and still offers good value, this is it.

Needles lodge is a great choice if you're visiting KNP. We had four amazing nights, with wonderful food and even better service. The people running it are incredibly hospitable and really want you to have a great experience in Kruger National Park.
