Shebamona

I can’t fault Shebamona. The place is so well equipped that you can just settle in and relax. There are two air cons, roof fans in all the bedrooms and lounge, solar power, TVs in the main lounge and upstairs with DSTV bouquet, covered parking for 2 vehicles, plus an additional chest freezer. There’s a fridge in the kitchen, another in the bar with a bag of ice in the bar freezer, and a mini fridge by the main bedroom upstairs. That bedroom also has a private kitchenette for making coffee. The pool is private, so adults can relax while keeping children in full view as they swim. Inside, there’s an open-plan kitchen and dining area, as well as a dining table on the outside patio. You’ll find both a gas braai area upstairs and a charcoal braai outside, with charcoal and fire lighters provided, plus wood and cushions for the boma seats. The bar has ice packs and glasses for all sorts of drinks. There are board games and books, a dart board outside, and binoculars too. The owner is very attentive to guests’ needs. Each of the 3 bedrooms had fresh linen, towels, soaps, shampoos, chocolates on the beds, and a personalised key ring gift. We also got a welcoming snack tray for the whole family with savoury biscuits, cookies, rusks, mussels, mini jams, olives, and nuts. It even included animal feed. There’s an information guide in the unit, with the week’s weather and contact details for restaurants and spas, including their services. The kitchen really does have everything, from an air frier and a 5 plate gas stove with electric oven to dishes for 8 people, a water machine, usual spices, coffee, sugar, milk, gas and electric kettles. There’s dishwashing soap and sponges in the main kitchen, prep bowls outside, and dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. We were lucky to have Impala, Kudu and Zebra come right onto our outside wooden deck on the first night. Just remember this is the bush and a Malaria area. Keep doors and windows closed to keep snakes and monkeys out, and use the mesh sliders on the doors and windows. We could relax here without a worry in the world.
