Nels River Guesthouse and Spa

I paid through Airbnb after the guesthouse showed availability for my dates. About half an hour later, I got an email saying the room was no longer available and that my money would be refunded in about 15 working days. They get to hold onto the client's money in the meantime, while the client waits. I called twice to speak with the owner, but the manager wouldn't give me his number. This is unacceptable.

The guesthouse is in a nice location, but it's a pity that it's run-down. The rooms are okay, though the thin, faded towels had holes and there was mould in the shower. There isn't much to watch on TV, and the staff came across as unwelcoming and indifferent. The place could do better.

I like the atmosphere, and the rooms feel both modern and cosy. They get cleaned every morning. It'd be nice if breakfast were part of the price. Definitely worth visiting.

There was no communication about maintenance at all. I've been here for five nights and, after two awful nights, I'm thinking about checking out. Maybe the geyser isn't working, or maybe it's something else, but nobody has explained anything. The customer service is poor, really poor.
