The Lady Grey Walk Cottage

There’s a lovely library area and lots of thoughtful details throughout this spacious cottage. It’s pet friendly, fenced all around, and has a generous front garden. The Cape Dutch style place has a broad wraparound stoep, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and comfortable living area. There are two great bedrooms downstairs, plus a full bedroom with ensuite upstairs on the mezzanine. The two baths are stunning and have jets, and both showers are good, with a particularly huge one upstairs. There’s a garage and extra off-street parking, and the location is convenient. The garden can be noisy on weekends, though inside was peaceful and we slept well. I’d book again.

We left after one night and had to find somewhere else because the house was infested with bed bugs. The owner blamed us, and still hasn’t refunded that night, even though we have video evidence of what happened. The service was the worst I’ve experienced. She said she’d return the money if we removed the review, which says plenty.

The property needs maintenance, but it’s an enjoyable place to stay and very central.

The inside is clean and nicely decorated, but the location at the village entrance feels exposed and offers little privacy. The pool description was misleading to me: it’s an inflatable pool, and it was empty, which was disappointing. Communication was poor.
