Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City

The curry looked lovely and was nicely presented, but it was bland even with the chilli and sambals, and there wasn’t any salt on the table. I couldn’t ask for help because the waitron never checked on us, and we’d already had to search for staff just to get started. We came for lunch since our offices are next door. The menu looked varied and promising, and we sat outside by the pool while only a few people were dining inside and the conference buffet crowd hadn’t come out yet. Still, everything took ages, from finding staff and getting menus to ordering and being served. The chickpea and potato curry had lots of potato and very few chickpeas. With an orange juice and sparkling water, lunch came to R400. That’s not the service or quality I expect from a Courtyard Hotel, especially in Waterfall City.

Nelson really turned a rough day around. After my flight was delayed, I arrived exhausted and starving. The reception staff were friendly and checked me in, then Nelson greeted me at the restaurant, took my bags, arranged my meal and served me. He was attentive and made me feel like royalty. The people here are always friendly and helpful, which sets this place apart from other hotels. Nelson was awesome, service above and beyond.

The salad starter was one of the best, and service was great until I overpaid the waitress. They couldn’t provide video to show that I hadn’t.

I was there for a seminar. The service was great and the food was not bad. It’s close to the highway, with Mall of Africa across the road, and it’s a very nice hotel.
