The cottages are spacious, fully equipped and have lovely terraces with peaceful views. We found the whole stay relaxing, with walks, mini golf and a swimming option on the property. There’s not much nearby, though; central Piet Retief is still 45 minutes away. The welcome was very friendly, and we made good use of the onsite deli, which sells deep-frozen homemade meals. After eating out for two weeks in a row, it was nice to heat one in the oven. It tasted delicious and healthy. We realized six hours down the road that we still had our room key. We called Dusk to Dawn, and they’d been looking for it all day, sorry about that! We asked our next host to send it back, and assume it made its way home.

Gudrun was a wonderful host, and we really enjoyed our night at Dusk to Dawn. The farm walk added to the peaceful, relaxing feel. The homemade ice cream and breakfast were exceptional.

Birders will find plenty to enjoy here, especially since the owners share their passion and are happy to point out what there is to see. We loved our stay and would happily return. The view is stunning, the rooms and houses are nicely equipped, and the food is lovely. The owners and staff were all very friendly.

The guest house was exceptionally comfortable and perfectly equipped, with every detail taken care of. We felt at home right from arrival, thanks to the warm-hearted team, especially Gudrun. Her kindness and hospitality made the stay feel special, and we’re grateful for all the food prepared with such care. Every meal was a treat, especially the delicious delis and outstanding breakfast. We loved everything about Dusk to Dawn Guestfarm and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

A lovely one-night stop on the way to Northern Natal. We were made very welcome, and our host treated us so well. The breakfast was wonderful, with great produce from the farm. This is definitely a place I’d return to.
