African Spirit Game Lodge

We came away from our six nights wishing we could have stayed longer, and already want to return. Albert was a fantastic guide, professional and attentive, with a real passion for wildlife and nature. Thanks to him, we got wonderful photos of lions, cheetahs, rhinos and their babies, hippos with babies, elephants and birds. The drives and other activities with him were a lot of fun. The lodge team made everything easy, too. Liezle was quick to answer our planning emails and lovely to work with at the lodge, and Henk was great to work with as well. Taylor and Nosipho were kind and accommodating. Our room was clean and serviced daily, laundry was handy, and Chef Bonnie served delicious meals and desserts. It’s a trip we’ll remember forever.

The game drives with Johann were a real highlight. He’s passionate about his work and knows a lot, so we saw plenty. Set in the middle of a private game reserve, the lodge also has beautiful views, clean, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and lovely food. African Safari Lodge became one of the best parts of our trip and has a special place in my heart. I hope I can come back one day.

The drives were a highlight. The guides listened to what we most wanted to see, and we learned a lot about the local ecology. We tracked elephants and rhinos, came across a cheetah, and saw giraffes close up, along with ostriches, zebra and other wildlife. From the moment we arrived at African Spirit Lodge, we felt well looked after. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with thoughtful touches like a French press, tea and coffee. The food was delicious and clearly made with care. 10/10, would recommend!

We took three game drives with Johan and saw lots of wildlife. He was informative and a great host. The unit was well equipped, the food was delicious, and the lodge was beautiful and well run, with friendly, accommodating staff. We’ll definitely be back.
