This place is a hidden gem, with a spacious, well equipped unit, safe parking, a quiet area and a friendly host. Freshly baked bread and snacks made the stay even better, and the wifi is free. We did miss having air con.

Mary was so sweet and helpful, making sure we were comfortable, and we’d happily stay again if we’re in the area. The garden was lovely, full of beautiful birds and tortoises, and Montagu is as pretty as a picture. Abigail's Garden Cottage had everything we needed and more. Thanks to the host for the lovely welcome gifts. We’re not big drinkers, but the muscadel provided was so yummy we couldn’t resist having some.

Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable, and the cottage had everything we could need for self catering. The location was lovely and peaceful, but close enough to the town centre, shops and restaurants that we didn’t need to drive. It seems like a great place to stay in summer or winter. We had a wonderful stay at Abigail's Garden Cottage, and our hosts were gracious and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

The host was there to greet us when we arrived after 7 pm on a Saturday, tired from a long journey, which we really appreciated. It’s a beautiful, traditional, cosy South African cottage, with everything you could wish for. We were provided with fresh bread, juice, milk, lovely fresh coffee beans, bathroom toiletries, fresh fruit and port. The hospitality was fantastic, and the people were lovely and friendly. It’s a long drive from Knysna, but the R62 has stunning scenery and is well worth it. We’d highly recommend Abigails and Montagu.

A bird lover’s heaven. The garden’s been made to attract birds, and we spent hours just watching them. Colin and his wife also provided lots of extra goodies. This was the best setup we’ve ever been to, and we’ll DEFINITELY be back.
