We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Gondwana Lodge. It looks even better in person than it does on the website. The atmosphere and rooms are lovely, the staff go above and beyond, and the food was truly exceptional. The safari drives were amazing, and our guide Zede really cared about making the experience special. It's also clear they focus on conservation and the animals' wellbeing. We stayed two nights and highly recommend it.

We had a lucky two days and saw all of the Big Five except the leopard. We even had incredibly close encounters with a cheetah and a lion!

We were lucky with the sightings and encounters during our three-day stay, and our brilliant guide Anthea had a lot to do with that. She really knows the area, the animals, and much more. The kitchen impressed us too: everything from breakfast through the delicious dinners was so well made and tasty. The whole place is lovely for downtime, and every staff member was wonderful. We only wish we'd had more time. Thanks to the team for an incredible stay!

This place is in the middle of a full revamp right now. Once it's finished in spring 2025, it's going to be out of this world. The other lodges at Sanbona are open and just as impressive!
