Hartenbos Private Game Lodge

We did both an evening and a morning safari, and each was excellent. The two guides brought their own perspectives on the property and animals. The lodge itself is beautiful, with large, comfortable, clean rooms, a lovely location, and great food. I genuinely enjoyed our stay and look forward to seeing how the work at Hartenbos continues to strengthen conservation in the future. Awesome place.

Our favourite moment was watching the elegant Mummy giraffe with her adorable baby, and we were especially touched by the tlc given to the Lion and 2 Lionesses. The game drives were informative and professional, and the team’s knowledge, compassion, and respect for the animals and their habitat were heartwarming. Alida & team's hospitality was gracious, and our villa was cozy, clean, comfortable, and spacious, with lovely attention to detail. We enjoyed hearty, delicious breakfast and dinner. One night simply wasn’t enough, and we’ll come back for longer. We’ll be recommending you to all our friends. Wishing you continued success! Dina

The team went above and beyond to arrange a baby cot for our daughter, which we really appreciated. They’re very welcoming, provide great service, and are very child-friendly. The ownership changed this month, and the new owners’ enthusiasm is hard to miss. Highly recommended.

The lion project was interesting to hear about, and we enjoyed the game drive. We arrived two and a half weeks ago with our one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and were given an incredibly warm welcome. I hope I’ve got his name right, but Amon was so understanding at dinner in the evenings. He kept my food warm while I put our daughter to bed. I’m still wondering what they put in the spaghetti, because she’s never eaten so much and absolutely loved it. One thought: perhaps a safety barrier outside the tent would help protect children?
