Point Village Accommodation - Stephen

We stayed longer than planned because the place felt like home, and the staff treated us like family. They were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make our time special. For me, this is easily the best place to stay in Mosselbay. I’d recommend Point Village Hotel to anyone. Go enjoy the views, friendly team and good atmosphere with your family.

On day two, a sewerage problem in one of the bathrooms made the suite impossible to stay in. The smell was unbearable, like something had died in the pipes, so we had to leave and pay for another hotel ourselves. The receptionist said there was no other room available and that she would ask the manager to refund us for the night. After we had booked and paid for somewhere else, the hotel said it had found and fixed the problem, but by then we had checked out. The manager refused our refund request, referring to a strict no-refund policy. The stay was deeply disappointing from beginning to end. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived, and the toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. The suite was also unbearably hot, with no air conditioning. The lack of accountability and care made an already shocking experience worse.

The location is the one good thing. The hotel feels old throughout and badly needs an upgrade, especially the dated bathroom. The room was stuffy, with no window apart from a sliding door, and there was no air conditioning.

We had a lovely time and will keep coming back. The apartment stove was slow when cooking, so it could use an upgrade. Since it’s self-catering, a washing machine would also be handy. Still, it was a great stay.
