Lavandula Manor

The location is handy for all parts of Mossel Bay, and there's a great Spar just up the road if you want to self-cater. We had two lovely nights at Lavandula Manor, with an exceptionally well-appointed room, a fabulous view of the Bay, and a very comfortable bed. A fantastic experience, and I can happily recommend Lavandula Manor as a place to stay.

Breakfast was cooked fresh for us each morning, and when we had an early start the staff kindly packed us a lovely lunch instead. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and eager to help. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds, an open fire, tea-making facilities, and a TV if we wanted it. The property is gorgeous, with a breathtaking sea view over Mossel Bay. I'd highly recommend this guest house to friends and family.

The sea and Mossel Bay views from our pool-view room were hard to beat. Everything was very clean and cleaned daily, and the king-size bed was great. It wasn't suitable for self-catering because there wasn't enough equipment to prepare a meal. Sunlight came into the room from 5 a.m., though that didn't really bother me. The noise was the bigger problem. At 5 a.m. there were harsh sounds from upstairs, like the Moscow State Ballet rehearsing, and it stopped at 6. On holiday, I'd like to sleep until 7. On two afternoons, a group of young people played loudly and jumped around in the pool, so it wasn't usable. I don't mind a Golden Retiver jumping in, since those dogs love the water. I'd give the location and facilities an honest 4, but the noise and pool experience get an honest 1. That works out to a well-intentioned 2 overall.

Liza and her family were among the loveliest parts of our stay. They were helpful and friendly from the start, and we were lucky enough to meet and play with their puppies. The sea views were exceptional, there's a swimming pool, and everything is within walking distance.
