I read Faizel's review of Raphia on Sea. We also booked a one-night stay, but nobody was at the property when we arrived. We had only booked shortly beforehand, about two hours before getting there. After several failed attempts to reach the host, we contacted the booking agent. When the host eventually arrived, he was very rude to me. I asked if he would accept a cancellation and approve a refund. He said the booking agent hadn't processed the booking properly, then apologized for being upset and coming across as rude. Andy's place is lovely, but he clearly wasn't happy about our booking, and we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Please sort out problems with booking agents without taking it out on clients. Being rude doesn't reflect well on your hospitality.

The place was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Andie was friendly and helped me find somewhere to eat. The main bed was huge and so comfortable, I had my best sleep ever. The dogs were really friendly too, which made me feel at home.

Don't book here. I was disgusted by how unprofessional this place was. I made and paid for a booking three days before arriving, and got a confirmation email. On the day, they couldn't find my booking and told me, in an incredibly rude way, as if it was my fault, that I should just find somewhere else to stay. WTH, close your doors, boetie! You're not cut out for this industry. Luckily, the booking agent found me another place within two hours. Don't expect an apology from this place either.
