Snips Accommodation

The staff were friendly, and the property felt secure and well maintained. Our accommodation was clean and neat too. One small thing would make the stay more enjoyable: ice trays in the room’s fridge or freezer. I had to buy ice outside the property, and it seems like a simple thing to provide.

It’s sad because the place is beautiful, but it’s dirty. Our room was filthy, from the cutlery to the floor, and there were bugs and cockroaches everywhere. The shower water was cold, and neither the toilet nor the stove worked. Stay away by any means!

The outside jungle gym was a concern right away because nails were sticking out of the deck, so we took the children and left. Before that, we had a frightening moment with a parrot. My three-year-old was trying to toss birdfeed we’d bought at Snips onto the ground, and the bird lunged through the cage and bit her finger when it touched the bars. She hadn’t put her finger inside. At the shop I asked for a first aid kit, but they brought a little Dettol, cotton and a plaster. No one washed their hands or put on gloves while treating the wound. Earlier, we’d had to find staff just to pay to enter the park, and when we tried to order milkshakes, the woman mumbled and walked off without taking the order. The toys were broken too. This place has potential, but it didn’t feel safe for kids, and there were no clear warnings to stay away from the cages. We were so disappointed and won’t visit again.

In Room 5 the WiFi was especially weak and kept dropping, which would be frustrating if you need it for work or leisure. Housekeeping also left a lot to be desired: the sink still had stains after cleaning, and towels I’d left on the floor were hung back up instead of replaced. After room service, windows were left wide open, putting belongings at risk and letting wildlife in. During my stay I found a small lizard on the bathroom wall. The parking is uncovered, which matters to me in bad weather. I’m unsure about returning. It feels like the service isn’t taken seriously and that no one checks what works. For now, this place doesn’t give me much reason to come back.
