Motswari Private Game Reserve by Newmark

We got to see the Big Five and plenty of other animals on the drives, and being so close to the wildlife was mind blowing. Our three-night stay at Motswari was part of our South Africa honeymoon, and the whole lodge surpassed my expectations. The booking included two drives each day. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the food was incredible, with three generous meals daily and happy hour before dinner. The friendly, attentive staff made everything even better. They also celebrated my wife's birthday, which made the trip extra special.

Our guide Josh and tracker David made the drives a real highlight. Josh's enthusiasm for wildlife, especially birds, rubbed off on us, and we've already bought bird books to take home. They both worked hard to show us a wonderful range of wildlife. Josh also joined us for dinner on our last night, a lovely touch. We spent three nights at Motswari Game Reserve as a family and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and beautiful, the property was stunning, and the food was much better than we'd expected. There was a warm family feeling around the lodge, from staff singing before lunch to the send-offs after dinner for guests on their last night. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and housekeeping was excellent. I'd choose Motswari first for another safari and recommend it to friends and family.

The bungalow was near the waterhole, and elephants came right up in front of our veranda. We had such a lovely three-night stay at Motswari, and our safari pair, Tawu and Rudolph, were experienced and wonderful. They showed us the Big Five, lots of other animals and plants, and even a honey badger 🦡. Their knowledge was extraordinary. George made our engagement feel special, setting up a beautiful flower-decorated spot and taking great photos and videos. We also loved the menus, the food, the service, and the coffee. Thanks to Phaswane for organizing everything so well and making us feel welcome from arrival to departure. You all do great work. A quick tip: bring a torch or use your phone for light.

The setting was amazing, overlooking a river where giraffes and elephants wandered past. We even had a hyena come close while we sat around the campfire. Our room was large, luxurious, and comfortable, and we each enjoyed a great massage with Lerato in a spot where you can watch giraffes walk by. We spent two nights at Motswari Private Game Reserve, and it was an unforgettable visit. Marius made the drives and walking safari memorable, while his trackers, Elvis and Misha, knew so much about the animals and bush. Thanks to them, we saw three of the Big Five in just a day and a half. The lodge's food and service went well beyond our expectations. As a vegetarian, I was looked after with real skill and charm. The food was outstanding, thank you Glenda and team. Desmond and MJ took care of every detail and made us feel welcome. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we hope to be back soon.
