Tanda Tula Safari Camp

We saw all sorts of wildlife, everything you'd hope for on safari, with skilled, experienced guides and trackers leading the way. The location in Timbavati feels secluded and wild, yet it's easy to reach from Hoedspruit. Tanda Tula has a stunning, modern but comfortable design, and the staff made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The suites are a luxurious tented stay, with sections of the side walls opening to screens and a plunge pool, along with the comforts you'd expect from a 5-star lodge. Everyone was warm and accommodating. We hope to come back one day. If you're weighing options in Greater Kruger, Tanda Tula is phenomenal.

One of the most memorable parts was how welcoming the people were. Our team, Ginger and Given, were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to what we hoped to see. The staff were exceptionally kind, and the camp has a social feel. At the Monday barbecue, guests eat with their safari neighbours and guides, making it easy to meet people. The kitchen also took great care with my partner's several allergies. The chef made sure his meals were safe and adapted dishes when needed. Tanda Tula is a special camp in a remarkable setting, accessible from Cape Town and in a private reserve bordering Kruger National Park. Wildlife moves freely between the park and reserve. Its protected status and conservation fees limit human access and help keep poachers away. Dedicated teams work on animal protection and anti-poaching. It's an extraordinary place run by remarkable people, and one I'd recommend without hesitation.

We stayed at Tanda Tula for four nights, and every part of it surpassed what we expected. The staff were unbelievable, and the game drives were incredible. We saw the big 5 and more. Anyone looking for a luxury safari should stay here. We'll be back, there's so much good to say about it.

I've stayed at Tanda Tula many times and watched the camp develop into what it is now. It was already an amazing 5* lodge, and the new renovation has made it super amazing and extremely luxurious. The staff and Rangers are among the best in the business. I've visited lots of up-market lodges in Greater Kruger where the staff and management don't always match what they're selling. In my book, Tanda Tula is one of the best run lodges around.
