Rhulani Safari Lodge

Our nine-year-old daughter stayed engaged on every drive because Willem patiently explained the animals, their behavior, and habitats. He was knowledgeable and passionate, and our guide was superb. We spent four days at Rhulani Safari Lodge and often saw elephants, lions, giraffes, vultures, and even a tiny chameleon from just metres away. We saw the Big Five except for the elusive leopard, so maybe next time. The lodge has a waterhole that draws elephants and giraffes, and it makes a lovely blend of wilderness and comfort. Meals were very good, with local ingredients and flavors, and there was always something interesting on the menu. The whole team was warm, welcoming, and attentive. It’s a great choice for an intimate safari with close wildlife encounters and five-star lodge comforts.

We were unsure at first how many animals the reserve would have, but it far surpassed our expectations. We saw the Big Five and many other species, and for us the experience was even more impressive than Kruger. The animals came so close that we didn’t need binoculars. From the hide, we watched elephants at the lake in front of reception, including babies playing and bathing. The accommodation was amazing, and the whole team looked after us so well. Martha was especially attentive, and our game drive guide gave us experiences we’ll remember for a long time. A wonderful hotel, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone with the chance to visit. Thanks to the team for such an extraordinary stay.

We keep returning to Rhulani because we just can't get enough. The guides are a real highlight, and it's lovely that the owner is often around. Everything has been perfect on every visit. Highly, highly recommend this lodge.

We saw amazing wildlife, and the food was great. The drinks package included with the stay was very good too. I liked our guide, but heard the other guides offered different experiences, and I would have enjoyed those perspectives as well. It’d be good if they rotated the guides. A truly wonderful experience.
