The 540ha site has its own hiking tracks, where you can spot wildlife, and the infrastructure is all brand new but still charming. Pieter & Claudie, the lovely couple looking after the lodge, welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. They recently rebuilt the site from scratch after a natural forest fire. We'd definitely visit again!

The hosts were caring and lovely, the rooms were very nice, and the views were beautiful. I especially liked dinner, with national specialties such as bobotie. The garden is fantastic and clearly well looked after. Even the frogs were entertaining, they sounded like guinea pigs.

At Iketla Lodge we stayed in beautiful chalets with a stunning view, welcomed by a friendly team. It's close to the panorama route. We enjoyed exploring the nature reserve on our own during a morning walk, then had a nice breakfast on the terrace. The food and service were excellent.

The rooms were fantastic, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Such a beautiful lodge, with a really friendly team. I’d definitely recommend it.

The scenery around Iketla Lodge was outstanding, and we enjoyed the spacious, clean chalets, with both indoor and outdoor showers. There are walking trails ranging from half an hour to four hours, plus a small pool to relax beside. Pieter & Claudie made us feel at home and helped with information and maps for the places we wanted to see. Breakfast had a good cold selection followed by hot food. At dinner, the chef presented that evening’s three-course South African meal. It was excellent, and there was a good choice of wine and beer. We visited Panorama 3 rondawels, god's window, blyde river canyon, and Burkes luck pothole. Near Graskop, about 2km from Burkes Luck Potholes, we also tried The Chubby Pig, which Pieter & Claudie had recommended. It was charming and rustic, with seating overlooking the river, brilliant food, and a small clothes shop. Well worth a visit. You can travel as far as Hazeyview, and there are trips on the Cannon too, though we didn’t do one this time. We’d most definitely recommend Iketla Lodge. Thank you, Pieter & Claudie, for such an enjoyable three-night stay. Christine & Bob
