Meijer's Rust

The peacefulness of this area is amazing, and we'll be back. It's a beautiful location with lots of bird species, and cows right in front of the " stoep" woke us early in the morning. It had everything we needed for a weekend away or for visiting the tourist spots nearby. The huge bathtub was my absolute favorite. I would have given it full stars, except the linen had stains, although it seemed clean. We stayed in cottage 1 in January 2023 and had photos of that room. This time the sheets, duvet cover and pillows were the exact same colors, but the pillowcases had bleach stains all over them, including the ones inside the wooden trunk. Thank you.

Animals coming up to the watering hole and the amazing view were lovely to see. The staff were a bit slow, though, and for what we paid for the food I expected more. We had to ask the waiter how long it would take, and the food had already gone cold. My first experience wasn't very good personally, but I'll give them another chance when I'm next around Oudtshoorn.

I spent six days camping here, and it was wonderful being out in the wild. The campsites have electricity and lighting, and there's wifi too, which is a bonus out here. The ablution block was five star and very well maintained, with toilet paper and fresh, clean towels provided. Barry, the owner, and the staff were exceptionally hospitable and kindly took care of everything I needed. I highly recommend this campsite.

The rooms are modern, beautiful, very clean, neat and spacious, with aircon. Management and the team are friendly and helpful. Amazing accommodation, and I'll definitely go back.
